The new 2023 Nissan Ariya has a lovely interior and a powerful use of technology, but is it enough to convince you to buy it rather than the new 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E? These two vehicles have similar features, but as you will see, the Nissan Ariya has a few subtle advantages that set it apart. Continue reading to find out more about the 2023 Nissan Ariya.

Design & Style

Instead of elaborate curves, the 2023 Ariya is differentiated by a single horizontal line. The new small LED headlights are noticeable at night and gradually fade during the day. The Nissan Ariya’s overall appeal is enhanced by a new LED emblem that illuminates the route ahead. The Ariya will also include Zero Gravity seats, which will provide plenty of comfort and legroom for rear-seat passengers.

The Ice White package for the premium model of the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E comprises white bodywork, trim, and emblems; package-specific 19-inch wheels; and white and gray interior. The Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 variant also comes with standard heated front row seats and steering wheel, as well as option AWD.

Technology & Safety

Nissan Safety Shield® 360 is also standard on the Nissan Ariya, a suite of six active safety technologies that includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Rear Automatic Braking.

Ford calls its portfolio of driver assistance technologies Co-Pilot360, and the system has reached version 2.0. Standard features on the Mustang Mach-E Select include Blind-Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Automated Emergency Braking, Lane Centering, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams, And Traffic Sign Recognition. The Mach-E Premium also has a 360-degree video system and Active Park Assist, which allows for hands-free parallel parking.

Performance

The Ariya will be available in FWD and AWD configurations, with two drivetrain options: a single motor as standard, and a dual motor combination as an optional upgrade that will significantly improve horsepower and torque. Nissan’s exciting new e-4ORCE technology, which can transmit torque from the front to the back wheels, is also available with the twin motor option. The single motor generates 215 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. The twin motor boosts those to 389 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque.

The highest trim level Mach-E, the GT, on the other hand, can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour. The Mach-E has a power range of 266 to 459 horsepower. The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select has a range of 230 miles. The Premium trim has a range of 300 miles. The California Route 1 trim has a range of 305 miles, while the GT has a range of 270 miles.

The Bottom Line

While both vehicles have their own strong suit, we love a versatile vehicle. The all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya, Nissan’s first all-electric crossover SUV, offers strong acceleration and smooth, quiet operation, and with a range of up to 300 miles for the Venture+ model, Ariya is a perfect accompaniment for everyday commutes as well as road trips alike if you enjoy a versatile vehicle that meets many of your needs.
